Volunteers of America has been working with our nation's veterans since World War I. In Michigan, no private provider serves more. An overview of what we provide:

Veterans Housing: Veterans are welcomed to programs that provide case management, employment assistance and physical and mental health services of the VA Medical Hospitals. Eighty percent who complete the program return to independent living. Programs include: Lansing, (517) 484-4414; Detroit, (313) 463-7065; and Warren, (313) 463-7067.

Veterans Employment: Comprehensive employment and training program services designed to address employment barriers with coordinated case management. A continuum of supportive services are provided, giving homeless veterans the ability to participate in job skills training programs while meeting their basic needs. Serving Bay, Calhoun, Clare, Clinton, Eaton, Genesee, Gratiot, Huron, Ingham, Ionia, Jackson, Kent, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Midland, Monroe, Montcalm, Muskegon, Oakland, Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair, Tuscola and Wayne counties. Supportive Services for Veterans Families (SSVF): Help for very low-income veterans and their families to prevent homelessness, or rapidly rehouse those who already are homeless. Case management and legal assistance, in addition to direct aid with rent, utilities, moving costs, etc. Serving greater Detroit, plus 12 central and western Michigan counties of Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Calhoun, Eaton, Ingham, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Kent, Muskegon, Ottawa and Van Buren counties.
