Suicide Prevention Engagement & Referral for Veterans

Are you a veteran or active duty member having suicidal thoughts? Do you think a veteran or active duty member in your life is at risk of suicide?

Volunteers of America Michigan’s Suicide Prevention Engagement & Referral for Veterans (SERV) Program works to help identify veterans and active-duty members at risk of suicide. This program is funded by the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant and serves 18 counties in southern Michigan.

Participants Will:

  • Receive one-on-one support from Veteran Peer Support Specialists with similar lived mental health experiences.
  • Be assigned a Case Manager to assist in connecting them with Veteran Affairs and non-veterans affairs community resources to help meet their needs.

Community Education:

Suicide prevention training and education seminars will be available and administered by the SERV Outreach Specialist. Contact us to set up a training at SERV@voami.org.
