Today, you can ease the fears of many concerned children. You can make sure that they start school with a new backpack filled with supplies. This will allow them to look and feel like their peers and less like a poor homeless kid. Your kindness can give them a chance for new beginnings. You have the opportunity to change a child’s future.

COVID-19 UPDATE
We also wanted to let you know that we are taking every step necessary to prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The safety and health of our volunteers, clients, donors, community partners, and employees is of utmost importance to Volunteers of America Michigan.
Many of you still want to help, and YOU CAN from the comfort and safety of your own home.
Even though our in-person volunteer opportunities are currently on hold, we still have ways you can help others from the safety of your home!
You can help our seniors, veterans and frontline heroes let them know you are thinking of them during these uncertain times.
Brighten their day by creating a card, writing a letter, sending an email, having a child draw a picture...it is up to you! Take a picture, email it over to us at volunteers@voami.org and we will be sure to share them all with them!
We are in an unprecedented time, and none of us know how long this pandemic will last...Let's come together and keep positivity at the forefront! We appreciate you taking the time to brighten someone else's day!
Send notes of encouragement to our seniors.
Let a homeless veteran know they aren't alone.
Send a note of thanks to our frontline heroes.
Another way you can help:
Volunteers of America Michigan has set up an easy to navigate system, Neighbors in Need.
You can select a location near you and have essential supplies sent directly to those in need without leaving the safety of their home.

Thousands of individuals across Michigan have joined the Volunteers of America Michigan family. Anyone who is willing to step-up and help us in our mission to serve the most vulnerable by volunteering their time or making a financial contribution becomes a part of our family. No contribution is too small.
Volunteers like you are critical to the mission and daily work of Volunteers of America Michigan. You make it possible to help those in need. There are a variety of ways to get involved. Volunteer opportunities fit almost any schedule, and we accommodate both individuals and groups up to 30.
You can serve meals to the hungry, hold your own donation drive, beautify our veterans garden, join our seniors in building a puzzle, help in the office and so much more.
Information and registration for our volunteer opportunities are below. We look forward to seeing you in one of our locations across the state!
