We need your help in activities for general office support, companionship for our seniors, spring cleaning, creating your own donation drive, and more. Let's team up and make a difference.
Thousands of individuals across Michigan have joined the Volunteers of America Michigan family. Anyone who is willing to step-up and help us in our mission to serve the most vulnerable by volunteering their time or making a financial contribution becomes a part of our family. No contribution is too small.
Volunteers like you are critical to the mission and daily work of Volunteers of America Michigan. You make it possible to help those in need. There are a variety of ways to get involved. Volunteer opportunities fit almost any schedule, and we accommodate both individuals and groups up to 30.
You can serve meals to the hungry, hold your own donation drive, beautify our veterans garden, join our seniors in building a puzzle, help in the office and so much more.
Information and registration for our volunteer opportunities are below. We look forward to seeing you in one of our locations across the state!*Volunteer opportunities require registration and a background check. Please allow up to 4 business days for processing before selecting your volunteer event.
Join the family
Our Detroit Veterans Housing Program provides transitional housing to 60 veterans on-site and we provide three meals a day, seven days a week for those residing on campus as well as our veteran families and employment programs. We need your help to serve those who first served us.
Support Our Thrift Stores
These thrift stores are more than meets the eye. All profits are used to support our social services across the state and it's our volunteers that make them so great.
Our seniors just need a friend
We provide affordable housing across the state, mostly for seniors. We've noticed that many of them are in their financial state because they have little to no support system. That means not much family, and few friends. Help us bring a little fun into their lives through senior companionship opportunities, like bingo, dances, sing a longs, card games, and more.
Help homeless students start out school on an equal playing field by arming them with a backpack of school supplies! We need donations and volunteers to make this program successful.
