Dustin, a Marine veteran, works for Volunteers of America Michigan (VOAMI) in Grand Rapids as a Certified Peer Support Specialist for other veterans who are in a mental health crisis.

Michael, a Navy Veteran and a Certified Peer Support Specialist for the SERV (Suicide Engagement & Referral for Veterans) uses his experiences, trauma, and personal crisis to help fellow veterans in the midst of a mental health crisis in his role at VOAMI.

After being discharged from the U.S. Army, Jermaine Holloway found himself with nowhere to go. It wasn’t until he arrived at the Detroit Veterans Housing Program (DVHP) that he found comfort and support.

After 25 years, Pamela found the courage to leave an abusive marriage. That’s when you gave her a safe place to land and heal. Because of you, Pamela is thriving and able to inspire others to do the same.

While battling cancer and facing medical debt, Hilda found sanctuary with Volunteers of America Michigan Because of you, Hilda is able to remain independent and have a place to call her own.

Dorothy Perkins has been a resident of Volunteers of America Michigan Buena Vista Senior Community since day one. She watched the facility be built from the ground up. After her husband passed away, she turned to VOA for affordable housing.
