Save the dates: Two great golf outings for one great cause
Mark your calendars for two popular events of summer, golf outings to support Volunteers of America Michigan. The first is Tuesday, June 25, at historic Walnut Hills Country Club in East Lansing. Details here. The second, the Seventh Annual Celebrity Golf Classic, is Monday, July 29, at beautiful Shenandoah Golf Club in West Bloomfield. Capital Area Stand Down for Homeless Veterans 2013
Thanks to the volunteers, agencies, donors and VETERANS who made our 10th Stand Down a great success! The weather threatened but spared us, and it was a great day of fellowship and tribute to veterans. We had live music, a great lunch and inspiring speakers. Take a look here for a photo gallery.
Combat boots as an art form: A project for Female Veterans
Volunteers of America Michigan is inviting female veterans to decorate a pair of combat boots. The collection will serve as a mobile art display, bringing awareness to the service of our Female Veterans, leading up to our second Stand Down for Female Veterans this fall.
