
For Navy veteran Alex Diaz Jr., accepting help was one of the hardest things he ever had to do. After years of stability, a series of setbacks left him without a home, forcing him to spend what he called “72 hours” on the streets.
With the support of Volunteers of America Michigan, Alex found the strength to set aside his pride, reconnect with vital resources, and begin rebuilding his life. His story is a reminder that asking for help can be the first step toward healing and stability.
