Volunteers of America Michigan is a proud provider of service-rich, affordable housing in Michigan.  Currently, we have 688 units of affordable housing in our total portfolio (both existing and under construction), spanning the state.

Our focus on the east side of Michigan has been on elderly and disabled housing.  We have five independent living apartment buildings located in the communities of Redford Township, Detroit, River Rouge, and Pontiac and coming soon to Buena Vista Township in Saginaw County.  All of these beautiful facilities are deeply subsidized and residents pay just 30% of their income for rent and utilities!  As we continue to grow, it is our privilege to tout that we will serve over 332 low-income seniors and disabled individuals daily, providing a welcoming, comfortable home that they can afford.

On our State's west side, we are pleased to provide affordable housing for families and individuals in the communities of Benton Harbor and Battle Creek.  These developments consist of apartments and townhouses, ranging in size from one to four bedrooms.  Situated on spacious grounds in a family-friendly environment, both communites are affordable under the tax credit program with some deep-subsidy available to make them even more affordable!

We believe in the dignity and value of every person we serve.  We belive that everyone deserves to have safe, decent and affordable housing.  At Volunteers of America Michigan this is our core belief and we strive to deliver housing that far surpasses your expectations!
