Community Kitchen
The Community Kitchen, located at 430 North Larch in Lansing, set a new fiscal year record of 106,690 total meals served to the homeless and hungry (July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010).
Open 365 days a year, the Community Kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on weekdays and breakfast and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. Eighty percent of individuals that use the Kitchen are homeless.
Volunteers and Donations play a large role in the Community Kitchen operations.
Community Kitchen Wish List:
- Monetary donations to help cover food expenses
- Frozen meat
- Non-expired, unopened foods (see below)
- Plates, bowls and silverware
Community Volunteer Needs:
- Pick up donations from local vendors
- Preparing and serving meals
- Groups to sponsor entire meals (bring food and serve)

- Canned Fruits and Vegetables
- Canned Meats (no sardines)
- Pasta (macaroni and egg noodles)
- Dry Breakfast Cereals (Corn flakes, Wheaties, Cheerios)
- Condiments (catsup, mustard, mayonnaise)

- Macaroni and Cheese
- Cup-O-Soups
- Rice
- Hamburger and Tuna Helper’s
