The mission of United Way for Southeastern Michigan is to mobilize the caring power of Detroit and Southeastern Michigan to improve communities and individual lives in measurable and lasting ways.



THAW: The Heat and Warmth Fund


The Heat And Warmth Fund, THAW, is an independent non-profit agency that provides low-income individuals and families with emergency energy assistance and advocates for long-term energy solutions.



God's Helping Hands

God's Helping Hands is a community outreach coordinated by the churches of Christ. Since it began in 1998, we have been able to help meet the needs of families in Oakland, Macomb, and Lapeer counties, along with other counties in Southeast Michigan with clothing and food.
Anyone can receive help from us - church members, non-church members, and community people alike.



The Christian Woman's Alliance

A program designed and set up for families with needs we all share. This program is in its infancy and will grow over time with help of our communities. The (CWA) also acts as a non profit agency that assists clients in taking charge of there well-being. One phone call puts clients in contact with those who care about their needs and can best offer assistance and guidance.  Any individual with these needs may beneift:

-Food
-Temporary Shelter
-Utility Assistance
-Clothing
-Senior Citizens in threat of utility shutoff

Buddy-to-Buddy Program

The Buddy-to-Buddy Program is a free and confidential program for Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn veterans who need help linking up to resources (e.g. healthcare, educational, financial, emotional counseling). By calling our number, 1-888-82-BUDDY, service members and veterans are able to get connected to a trained Volunteer Veteran to assist them with their concerns and provide some support along the way.
