Operation Backpack Supply Lists
Thanks to supporters like you, Volunteers of America Michigan is making significant strides with the Operation Backpack 2011 campaign. It’s our concerted effort to improve the scholastic achievement of underprivileged children throughout our communities. And even as we see momentum, we know we must do even more this year compared to years past.
With the tumultuous state of Michigan’s economy, 2011 has already proven to be a challenging year for children throughout the state. For underprivileged youth being properly prepared with back-to-school supplies is an unlikely prospect.
Volunteers of America Michigan hopes to exceed last year's distribution of 1,200 supply-filled backpacks, but we still need your help!
School supplies are still in need!
Donations will be collected at the Volunteers of America Michigan administration office (21415 Civic Center Drive, Suite 210, Southfield, MI 48076) through August 29th, 2011.
If you would like to purchase a new backpack and fill it with school supplies for one child, Please be sure to attach the appropriate label, specifying the grade, to the backpack.
